Duties: Organize, lead, motivate and develop the Software Development and QA staff with responsibilities across multiple, simultaneous projects.
Provide management and guidance to staff to achieve their optimum performance levels and career development.
Facilitate communications within the team and facilitate knowledge and expertise sharing amongst the team and other personnel.
Improve processes and procedures, implementing necessary changes, to increase departmental effectiveness. Continually review existing processes and procedures to ensure optimal effectiveness is maintained.
Proactively identify opportunities where IT can offer services to solve business problems, obtaining user requirements and ensuring the project management process is visible to all stakeholders.
Interface with clients to promote Shubert software services and gain understanding of their business requirements.
Keep Shubert management and other internal IT clients informed of project schedules, issues, and objectives in a timely manner.
Set and enforce IT operating procedures and guidelines.
Hold responsibility for governance of IT processes.
Investigate and keep abreast of technology trends that might provide benefit to our users or increase the efficiency of existing systems.
Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field, or a combination of formal education and computer training that demonstrates a good knowledge of computer technology.
Minimum of ten years experience managing in a complex and diverse online technical environment including responsibility for software development quality assurance.
Experience with Web programming techniques and Unix transaction systems.
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate staff.
